NO BELL A RINGING SUCCESS

The annual No Bell Luncheon held at the Mandarin in Oshawa on Tuesday September 5 was indeed a very successful event to kick off the new school year.  We had a total of 144 attendees. Twelve New Retirees (since September 2022) were treated to an actual “Free Lunch”, 107 Members were compensaded $10 on their bill, and 18 guests received a special discounted price for joining us.

An impressive $247 was raised for Hearth Place Cancer Center in Oshawa, and the winner of the 50/50 prize was Jaynelle Harding.

Judging by the sheer volume of cheerful conversation, the laughter, and numerous rounds of applause, everyone had a fine time. Especially well received were all the jokes involving the handbell from which the Social Committee’s special crew member, Dave Huculak, had removed the clapper!

And, finally, we are pleased to report that, thanks to Charlie Turner and Dave Huculak all but 3 of the name tags were returned!
